Environment: All

Versions: All

Answer:

Clean up options are found by going to the field mapping screen and clicking on the gear icon to the right of your mapping.

Select Clean up, and a new screen will appear with the different clean up options available. Below we will walk through each of the Casing selection options.

Casing selection provides you with 3 options:

  1. UPPERCASE
  2. lowercase
  3. Proper Case

In our example data file, clean up is needed that requires I use all three clean up options on different fields.

For the First and Last Name values (in the red box), we will use the Proper Case clean up. To do this, select the gear icon to the right of the field mapping for the First and Last Name fields. Select Clean up, and the new screen appears with our clean up options. Choose the Proper Case option from the drop down menu, then click Apply.

Our example records show the Proper Case clean up that has been applied to the First and Last Name fields.

Next, we'll focus on the values in the State column (in the purple box). We will use the UPPERCASE clean up for these values. Again, select the gear icon to the right of the field mapping for the State field. Select Clean up, and the new screen appears with our clean up options. Choose the UPPERCASE option from the drop down menu, then click Apply.

Our example records show the UPPERCASE clean up that has been applied to the State field.

Lastly, we'll look at the Email Address column values (in the green box). We'll use the lowercase clean up for these values. Again, select the gear icon to the right of the field mapping for the Email Address field. Select Clean up, and the new screen appears with our clean up options. Choose the lowercase option from the drop down menu, then click Apply.

Our example records show the lowercase clean up that has been applied to the Email Address field.
