How to not add a gift attribute if the import cell is blank

Hi

I'm fairly new to ImportOmatic, so please forgive my simple question!

I have various types of gifts to import on one file but each type of gift (in memory donation, general donation, celebration donation etc) calls for a different attribute. How do I prevent IOM from creating an attribute if the import cell is blank?

Do I need to create a dictionary that says 'ignore if blank'?

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks

Christine

Hi Christine,

If I understand your question I believe the data in this knowledgebase article should work for you. https://iom.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/841260-how-to-use-virtual-fields-to-populate-a-field-only

Thanks,

John
Just FYI, an attribute will not be created if the value is blank (I am pretty sure...)

If you are also adding a date then you will also need to make sure that is blank.

Thanks very much - I shall give this a try.
