Deleting Files

I have recently updated and have been operating on the newest edition of Importomatic.

I have been having issue after issue... Every time I attempt to import a batch, it fails, and for some reason, it is deleting the original file off of my hard drive. How can I fix this? This must be something in my settings.

I don't think that IOM would delete the import file but it does have the option to rename the file which might be making it "disappear" from the list.

In your profile in General Settings make sure that the checkbox "Rename processed import files to add timestamp" is NOT checked. If it is checked then it will rename your file with a different extension which will cause it to not be recognized as a valid import file.

For example import.csv would be renamed import.csv.20140118_100414

The data in the file has not changed so if you want to reuse a file that has been renamed you simply need to remove the new extension by manually renaming the file yourself.

Hi Felicai,

As Wayne mentioned, it sounds like you have the option to rename the file turned on. Our Knowledgebase solution 291325 explains how to turn off this option.

I am sorry you are encountering issues with your import! I'd be happy to take a look for you and help get your batch imported. I will need to examine the following files: the data file, the error.txt, and the IOM profile being used for this import. Please send these files to so that I can better assist you with your issue.

To send your IOM profile, please follow these steps:

* Go to IOM Configuration
* Highlight the name of the profile you are using
* Right click on it and choose to export
* Send the .xml file that is created
* It will be named in this fashion: IOM_Profile_Export_.xml
