Answer:
The Base File displays the name of the file that was used to populate the Field Names when this profile was created and is strictly informational. The base file simply tells the source of the original file headers in a profile. Once the profile is created, the base file name/location listed on the profile cannot be changed.
You can, however, edit an existing profile to add or remove fields. It is important to note that any changes to a profile do not automatically update a file. Nor do changes made to a file automatically change existing profiles. This includes changing header values, deleting or adding columns. If changes are made to a file after the profile has been created, the profile must be manually changed in order to match those changes.
Note: In IOM version 2.3 and higher, the Base File is no longer present on profiles.
