Description: This feature allows you to view any bio field values that are different than the current values for bio fields on the constituent's existing record in RE. This solution describes how to turn this feature on and additionally explains how to turn the feature off for constituents and relationships within IOM.

To turn on the side by side comparison utility for constituents: 

  1. On the Profile tab within IOM Configuration, select the desired Profile, highlight and select the Edit button or double click on the selected Profile to open for editing
  2. In the Profile Navigation Pane, click on Constituent
  3. Place a check mark in the check box next to the "Use Side By Side Comparison Utility For Updating Bio Fields" option
  4. Review the additional six check box options located under "When a new value is imported for an existing constituent, select these fields for updating by default"
  5. Make selections for which fields are allowed to be pre-selected with check marks for updating. If there are questions about the exact fields that each check box option will update, hold your mouse over the check box option to activate a more detailed description of the fields, a further description will appear as a hover feature
  6. Once all desired check box options have been selected, choose to save changes to the profile by selecting the Save button at the bottom of the profile



To turn on the side by side comparison utility for individual relationships:


  1. On the Profile tab within IOM Configuration, select the desired Profile, highlight and select the Edit button or double click on the selected Profile to open for editing
  2. In the Profile Navigation Pane, click on Individual (Located under Relationships)
  3. Place a check mark in the check box next to the "Use Side By Side Comparison Utility For Updating Bio Fields" option
  4. Choose to save changes to the profile by selecting the Save button at the bottom of the profile


To turn on the side by side comparison utility for organization relationships: 


  1. On the Profile tab within IOM Configuration, select the desired Profile, highlight and select the Edit button or double click on the selected Profile to open for editing
  2. In the Profile Navigation Pane, click on Organization (Located under Relationships)
  3. Place a check mark in the check box next to the "Use Side By Side Comparison Utility For Updating Bio Fields" option
  4. Choose to save changes to the profile by selecting the Save button at the bottom of the profile


To turn off the side by side comparison utility for constituents: 


  1. On the Profile tab within IOM Configuration, select the desired Profile, highlight and select the Edit button or double click on the selected Profile to open for editing
  2. In the Profile Navigation Pane, click on Constituent
  3. Remove the check mark in the check box next to the "Use Side By Side Comparison Utility For Updating Bio Fields" option

    ***Note: Removing the check mark from the side by side comparison utility check box will not prevent updates being made to bio fields, in order to prevent both viewing the comparison window and updating comparison utility bio fields, all check marks will need to be removed from all six check boxes located under "When a new value is imported for an existing constituent, select these fields for updating by default".

  4. Review the additional six check box options located under "When a new value is imported for an existing constituent, update". Each check box that remains selected will allow IOM to automatically approve any incoming bio field updates
  5. Deselect check boxes for the fields that are not allowed to have updates made during import. If there are questions about the exact fields that each check box option will update, hold your mouse over the check box option to activate a more detailed description of the fields, a further description will appear as a hover feature
  6. Once all undesired check box options have been deselected, choose to save changes to the profile by selecting the Save button at the bottom of the profile


To turn off the side by side comparison utility for individual relationships:
