The information listed below is instruction regarding RE functionality but should be checked before attempting to have RE create Constituent IDs automatically.
- Open RE
- Select Configuration
- Select Business Rules
- Highlight "Generate IDs".
- Ensure that there is a check mark next to "Constituent ID" under the "When adding records, automatically generate..." option to the right of the screen.
Note: If you need to make any changes to the Next Available ID number, you may do so under the "Change Number" button in the "Generate IDs" screen. If you require any additional information about these steps, please contact RE support at Blackbaud.
The following instructions are IOM functionality that should be checked in order to prevent Constituent IDs from being added during the Importing process from the data file being imported.
- Open IOM Configuration.
- Locate the profile you are working with under profiles and double click to open the profile.
- In the Field Map pane, check to see if there is a column set to a Record Type of Constituent Field with Value Type of Constituent ID, if so, ensure that this column is set to a Record Type of "Ignore".
