Description: This solution describes how to import address attributes
Environment: All
Version: 2.3 and higher
Answer:
Note: The attribute must already exist in the Raiser's Edge.
There are two ways to map attributes in a profile:
When the attribute category is in the source data file
- Map the category for the attribute with Record Type = Constituent Address Attribute Category. There is no need to map the Value Type, because IOM will look at the data file to find the value type.
- Map the description for the attribute with Record Type = Constituent Address Attribute Description. The Value Type will point to the Category. If the Category is in column A, the Value Type will say "Column A".
- The date and comments for the attribute are associated with the attribute description. These are mapped to the field containing the description in the Value Type, for example Value Type = Column B.
When the attribute category is not in the source data file
- Map the description for the attribute with Record Type = Constituent Address Attribute Description. The Value Type will be the Category.
- The date and comments for the attribute are associated with the attribute description. These are mapped to the field containing the description in the Value Type, for example Value Type = Column B.
For version 3.0 and above:
When the attribute category is in the source data file
- Map the category for the attribute with Raiser's Edge Field = Constituent > Address > Attribute > Category.
- Map the description for the attribute with Raiser's Edge Field = Constituent > Address > Attribute > Description. The mapping will point to the Category. Example: If the Category is in column A, the mapping will say "Column A".
- The date and comments for the attribute are associated with the attribute description. These are mapped to the field containing the description, for example, the mapping will say "Column B".
When the attribute category is not in the source data file
- Map the description for the attribute with Raiser's Edge Field =Constituent > Address > Attribute >Description. The mapping selection here will be the name of the Category.
- The date and comments for the attribute are associated with the attribute description. These are mapped to the field containing the description. For example the mapping will say "Column B".
