Description: This solution discusses why a record below the score threshold would show up in the results
Environment: All
Version: All

Answer:

Using name variants together with the scoring deductions can cause a record with a score below the threshold to show up in the results.

Name variants to score records are only used when processing a query. After the query is processed and the score between the records is stored the name variants service is no longer used. This helps reduce loading time of the results screen.

For example, if Not exact first name option is set to deduct 10, a record with 90 can show up if the threshold is set to 98 because in the database the two records have a stored score of 98.
