Answer:
This error occurs when when there is no address attribute selected for the phones/emails processing option for updating existing phones/emails.
To resolve:
Highlight "Phones/Emails" in the left hand navigation pane. On the right of the view you will see an empty field that has a drop down. Please select the appropriate address attribute in this field to allow the profile to be saved.
